Sonko was seen in a video with Brian Mwenda that is circulating on social media claiming he will help the “fake lawyer” where necessary. Calling upon criminal lawyers to chip in and help the “brilliant mind”.
Here’s part of Theuri’s statement about the matter:
We want to notify the members of the public that Brian Mwenda Njagi is now a fugitive of the law. As citizens of this country, we have a moral and a legal obligation to effect an arrest if the said masquerader is seen anywhere in public.
We have also seen a video that he shot yesterday evening with former governor Mike Sonko making fun of the serious allegations levelled against him, saying he could present himself to a police station either on Monday or Tuesday.
We wish to notify the former governor that he is now aiding a fugitive of the law and that is a criminal offence. If he does not produce the masquerader to the nearest police station, we would also be asking the police to take action against him.”
Theuri added that Mwenda committed a number of offenses including:
- Pretending to be an advocate
- Obtaining money from his clients by false pretence of being an advocate
- Stealing an identity of an existing lawyer, Brian Mwenda Ntigwa
The President also dismissed several other politicians like Francis Atwoli. He also expressed his disbelief in those who are supporting the fake lawyer.
