The Public Service Commission (PSC) has denied reports of hiring former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe after public uproar.
According to PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri, no such appointment had been made, nor had the board received a request to employ her.
“For the record, the position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,”said Muchiri.

This comes after reports emerged that Jacque Maribe has been hired by Moses Kuria as head of communication in the Ministry of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management.
PSC’s pronouncement on the appointment comes a month after Maribe was acquitted in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani after the court found her not guilty of the offence.
Congratulating Maribe, her long time friend and Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi took to social media to congratulate the former media personality on her new role in Kuria’s office.
“Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve. Thank you Moses Kuria for standing with a generation, please keep doing good and stretching your hand.”
However, the Minister of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management, Moses Kuria is yet to clarify the reports and issue a statement after the PSC’s statement.

According to PSC, CS Moses Kuria is quoted to have said “It is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission”
This comes after Justice Grace Nzioka acquitted Maribe in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani who was murdered back in 2018.
“The evidence of the prosecution against the second accused person did not place her in the house of the deceased on the material night. There was no evidence that she had ever communicated with the deceased.”
