The government through the Public Service Principal Secretary Amos Gathecha, civil servants will now be entitled to a salary increase barely weeks after strike threats by different workers.
In a letter Issued by the PS, the civil servants will receive a salary increase of between Ksh1,000 and Ksh30,000 following the government’s decision to honour the second phase of the Collective Bargain Agreement (CBA).
The government workers are also set to receive an increase in their house allowances in addition to the salary increment. This means, the lowest cadre of civil servants will get a salary increase of Ksh1,000, which will see their payslips rise from Ksh16,950 to Ksh18,250.

“The second phase of the new basic salaries and salary scales, which form appendix I and II to this circular will be implemented for civil servants in CSG17 to CSG4 with effect from 1st July, 2024.”
Meanwhile, those earning a salary of Ksh19,220 are set to get a new pay of Ksh20,560. The new changes are set to be backdated to July 1, 2024 and will be effected immediately.
“Second phase of the reviewed house allowance which form appendix III to this circular will be implemented for civil Servants in CSG17 to CSG4 with effect from 1st July, 2024.”
The agreement was implemented for the higher job groups with government workers earning Ksh102,860 set to receive a pay rise of Ksh3000 to earn Ksh105,570 while those earning Ksh118,790 are set to receive a salary increase that will see them earn Ksh121,500 in the new wage structure.

“The SRC has advised the implementation of the Remuneration and Benefits for the Civil Service in the National Government for the Third Remuneration and Benefits for the Civil Service in the National Government.”
