Gladys Wanga and Gerorge Natembeya have been ranked as best performing governors according to thr latest poll done by Infotrak. Both governors scored 70% in the poll that was conducted between July and September.
A total of 58,748 Kenyans from across the counties participated in the survey dubbed County Track Survey. This confirmed Natembeya and Wanga as the best performing governors in respect to the polls conducted.
Previously, Gladys Wanga was at position 45 during the last similar survey. This is an improvement all the way to position one. The Trans Nzoia governor was previously ranked at position 42 and his efforts have seen him move all the way to tie with Wanga at first position.
Snatching the second position is West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin with 67% with Simba Arati coming fourth with 64%. Murang’a governor Irungu Kang’ata closed the top 5 with a tie at 64% with Simba Arati.
More governors have recorded an improvement. With a shocker is the embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. She has moved from previously ranking at position 38 to now 8th overall. This is despite her tussles with the Members of County Assembly in Meru. READ: Meru MCAs Impeach Kawira Mwangaza
Overally, the first term governors have floored the second term governors in respect to projects and responsibilities in the county.
The other most improved governors are the Samburu Governor, John Lati who moved up from Position 48 to 17. Kitui county’s Julius Malombe was also notable having improved from 29th to tie it with Mwangaza at 8th.
On monday, Infotrak released county performance with Trans Nzoia and Homabay taking the lead. Of importance was how many projects have the counties launched since resuming office and of what impacts they are in society. Most of the consideration was done in the health sector and the infrastructure development.
