Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has finally broken his silence since his impeachment motion was tabled in parliament and asked forgiveness from President William Ruto and all Members of Parliament.
The Deputy President was speaking at a chapel at his Karen home in the company of his wife, two sons and members of Parliament when he took to the podium to ask for forgiveness on behalf of himself and his family to his boss and all MPs.
“I want to ask my brother Ruto that If I have wronged him in any way, please find it in your heart to forgive me. And to the MPs, if through our utterances and actions, we have upset or wronged you, find it in your heart to forgive me.”

Gachagua while reflecting on their joint leadership with Ruto and the challenges that they have faced since coming into office maintained that his quest for forgiveness was based on a need to reconciliate following reports of a political fallout with his boss.
The embattled leader also took the opportunity to ask President Ruto to forgive her spouse Dorcas Rigathi, while referring to her recent engagements across the country: “If my spouse and her program has wronged you, forgive her.”
This comes just days prior to his impeachment hearing which is set to kick him out of office on eleven charges levelled against him, including corruption, money laundering, tribalism and insurbodination.
