Fresh details from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have revealed that two nigerians involved in Rita Waeni’s murder were living in Kenya without proper documentation.
The two Nigerians who were presented at the Makadara Law Courts on January 22, 2024 are said to have dismembered the body of a 20 year old woman in a AirBnB in Kasarani before disappearing with her head.
According to the DCI, William Ovie Opiya whose passport is said to be expired and his counterpart Johnbull Asbor who is said to be in the country without any travel documentation. He told the detectives that he lost his documents two years ago.

The two are said to have been traced by the Criminal Research Intelligence Bureau to an apartment in Ndenderu, Kiambu County on Sunday where they were arrested.
Kasarani DCI officer, Constable Benjamin Wangila told the press that the two lived not fad away from the place where the suspected head of Rita Waeni was discovered in a dam near the apartment that the two were staying.
According to detectives, a hatchet, Butcher’s knife, a national identity card belonging to a kenyan (name Withheld), six mobile phones, three laptops, Ten simcards from different service providers and other items were recovered in the house that the two were living at the time of arrest.
Opiya claims he bought the hatchet from an online vendor and he told investigators that the hatchet was purposely for self defense.

However, the detectives sought to hold the two for eight more days at the Kasarani Police Station as they conclude their investigation over Rita Waeni’s murder case.
Senior Principal Magistrate Agnes Mwangi of the Makadara Law Courts granted detectives their request and the two will be held until January 31st before being presented to court to answer charges against them.
