Four people have been confirmed dead on a tragic Eldoret-Nakuru road accident involving a Nakuru-bound matatu belonging to Msamaria Shuttle Ltd. The matatu is said to have lost control, colliding head on with an oncoming 60-seater bus.
The accident happened around the Hill Tea Area along Eldoret- Nakuru Road and current reports indicate that four people lost their lives on the spot and several injured out of the collision.
Official Police reports say that the matatu was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the Eldoret-Nakuru road accident. At the time of collision, the accident claimed the lives of the driver and three other passengers that died on the spot. Nine other passengers were seriously injured.
However, the injured were rushed and are currently receiving treatment at the at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral hospital while bodies of the deceased were also moved to the same facility.
This adds to numerous accidents that have been recorded this month alone with police calling upon drivers and road users to be extra careful while on the road.

The accident comes barely a day after the Mbooni Accident that claimed twelve lives with ten dying on the spot and two succumbing to their injuries while receiving treatment.
Motorists using the Nakuru-Eldoret highway have been urged to be extra careful as the road has recorded quite a number of accidents in the recent past. Drivers are urged to approthe road with caution and take the markings beside the road seriously.
