The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is pursuing former MP who has since gone into hiding over Ksh. 51 Million corruption case haunting him.
According to reports, Former Mandera MP Adan Haji Ali is wanted by the Anti Corruption Commission to answer charges against graft committed during his tenure.
The former legislature is said to have gone missing in action and in hiding after getting intel that the Mombasa Anti-Corruption Court has ordered his arrest following the Ksh. 51 Million corruption case.

However, the EACC has confirmed that it’s pursuing the former MP to appear before the court to answer corruption charges which have been levelled against him.
“The former MP is wanted by EACC for arraignment over corrupt dealings involving Ksh51 million that he executed at the County Government of Kwale when he served as the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Tourism between 2013 and 2017.”
According to the charges, the MP committed the offence during his tenure as an employee of the Kwale County Government serving under the leadership of Governor Salim Mvurya who is now the Mining Cabinet Secretary.
Adan is believed to have used one of his hotel facilities to trade with the County Government of Kwale and did not disclose his private interest to the employer during the tendering and award process, thus engaging in a conflict of interest contrary to the law.
The illegality happened after the former MP allegedly used his position to exaggerate costs while providing accommodation and conference services for the county government.

“The suspect is believed to have gone into hiding after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in December 2023 concurred with recommendations of EACC to apprehend and charge him under the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, 2003.
The former parliamentarian has also been given the option to surrender to the Mombasa-based court before February 13, 2023 as a nationwide manhunt is launched.
