Five Nigerians that allegedly pushed a kenyan businessman from the seventh floor of a building in Nairobi to his death have been arraigned in Kibera Law Courts.
According to reports, the five were staying in the seventh floor where they pushed one, Otieno to his death. However, it’s not yet clear what led to the action as the deceased had taken the carpet to their house. However the police are still conducting further investigations.
The five Nigerians, Ibrahim Adegbiyega Ojora, Taheed Anu Bankale, Onoshagware Daniel Oghenewede, Badmas Rilman Olankewaji and Ibrahim Bankole Imole have however been charged for murder.

Handling the case, police constable Luke Ndirangu from the office of the Directorate criminal investigations asked the court to grant him 21 days which the suspects could remain in detention as he concludes the evidence to charge the five.
“I am currently investigating a case of murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code which occurred at Corner Heights apartment and reported vide OB number 22/29/1/2024 where the deceased Charles Otieno was allegedly pushed from the seventh floor to the ground where he susuccumbed.”
“We want more days for us to complete our investigations. We also want to take the respondents to Mathare Hospital for mental assessment, record statements from various witnesses and perform a postmortem.”
However, the defense team led by advocate Eric Anyegatold the court that the 21 days are too many for their detention and the court should reduce the days. The court therefore granted the prosecution 14 days to conduct and conclude their investigations.

“The investigation officer is duty bound to ensure swift investigations to help the suspect get swift justice. We are aware that there are no logistic challenges since the offence was committed in Nairobi and thus the investigators will have no logistic problems.”
However, the body was moved to Coptic Morgue where the Postmortem is yet to be conducted to provide more details about the incident.
