Five people have been confirmed dead and eighteen others injured in the Bomet accident that happened a few moments ago on Monday, March 18th.
The accident that involved a matatu and a tractor left eighteen people injured and five dead in a grisly road accident along the Olonguruone-Silibwet Road in Bomet County on Monday evening.
According to witnesses who were present on the scene and the police report obtained by NewsProjector, the matatu driver was driving on a wrong lane before ramming into an oncoming tractor causing the accident that claimed five on the spot.
“It happened that the driver was driving his motor vehicle from Olenguruone heading towards Bomet general direction and on reaching the location of the accident, the driver of the matatu failed to keep to his proper lane and rammed on the tractor.”

Bomet police officers who responded to the distress calls arrived on the scene of accident and confirmed the reports to NewsProjector.
The injured have been rushed to the Tenwek Mission Hospital in Bomet County while the dead have been taken to the mortuary in the same facility.
Police officers from Bomet Police Station who responded to the scene towed both the vehicle and the tractor to Bomet Police station pending further investigation into the incident.
This comes adays after another accident claimed the life of a teacher and a student after Kapsabet Boys High School bus overturned while taking students to a geographical trip.

Accident cases are on the rise and National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has asked drivers to be careful and avoid reckless overtaking while using various roads across the country.
