In a statement released by the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has confirmed that five counties are set to experience power interruptions today on Sunday. These will be Power interruption affected areas on Sunday
The affected counties will be Nairobi, Kilifi, Kwale, Uasin Gishu and Kisumu. In the statement, power interruptions will be experienced between 9 to 5PM.
Starting with Nairobi, some of the estates that will be affected include Umoja One, Stella street, Tena estate, Rockfield, Umoja N among another place along Outer ring road.
Uasin Gishu will see areas like Kapkorio, Jamii millers, Moiben Junction. Kisumu will have areas like Africa Sea food, Cocacola, cereals, Bandani among other areas in the county.
In coast, specifically Kwale county, areas that will be affected include Msambweni water, Sawasawa beach house, Niceview hospital, Viungujini among other places. Kilifi will see areas like Marina Mtwapa, Ahadi beach villas, Sultan palace, Kwa Jeki, Kanamai Timboni and others will be affected. That concludes a list of counties to experience power interruption affected areas
This follows a partnership by KPLC with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to curb people involved in vandalism, theft of electricity as well as illegal encroachment of wayleaves.

The managing director and CEO Siror attributed vandalism and illegal connections to recent purge in power outages. This he said will work with DCI to ensure that those involved in those illegal activities are arrested and brought to book.
“We are confident that the partnership with the DCI will boost our capacity to proactively fight vandalism and other crimes through an intelligence-led approach.”
Today’s planned interruptions will run for the better part of the day and is expected to run till late in the evening. Kenyans in the affected areas are advised to use alternative means to go through their day.
