Rotich Declines Ruto’s Appointment: Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich has declined President William Ruto’s appointment as the Budget Policy Advisor.
According to Rotich, he will rather pursue his career to be reinstated by his former employer at Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) than become the President’s budget advisor.
This comes after President Ruto appointed Rotich as the Senior Advisor on Fiscal Affairs and Budget Policy. The President took adopted the move after the prosecution dropped charges against Rotich in the Arror and Kimwarer dams case.
Henry Rotich, who holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, served as a Treasury Cabinet Secretary under former President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, Rotich was entangled in the ill fated Arror and Kimwarer dam Scandal that saw his removal from office on January 14th 2024 and was replaced by Ukur Yatani.
On his case, the prosecution failed to demonstrate charges associated with Rotich to specific breaches under procurement and public finance management laws.

Rotich Declines Ruto’s Appointment:
The appointment that was made in a letter from the Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei has apparently been turned down as Rotich is focused on returning to work for his former employer.
Sources privy NewsProjector, the former CS noted that he is best suited to work on CBK and will work to ensure his reinstatement to Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
That means that he will not honor the President’s request to take over as his budget advisor in a new role that was made public a day ago.
