Dj Joe Mfalme and 6 others who appeared before Magistrate Margret Murage of Kibera Law Courts have been detained for 14 days pending further investigations.
The court allowed the application by the police to detain the suspects in the murder of Felix Kitosi, a DCI officer attached to Kabete Police Station last week.
Initially, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had requested 21 days but the court said 14 days would be sufficient to complete their investigations before they are presented again in court.

According to reports, DJ Joe will be detained at Muthangari police station together with Eric Gathua and Simon Wanjiru while Allan Ochieng will be detained at Kabete police station.
The other three officers accused alongside Dj Joe Mfalme namely Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Rotich and Agnes Mogoi will be detained at Riruta station pending appearing in court
Magistrate Margret Murage directed that the matter be brought before court on April 8th after the conclusion of the period that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations requested.
This comes after Dj Joe Mfalme and six others were arrested on Saturday following the death of one Felix Kelian Kitosi whom according to reports was assaulted by the accused prior to his death.
However, according to the defense of the accused, The doctors’ report was not tabled in court to prove the claims being made by the police about the suspects.

Dj Joe Mfalme however sought the permission of the court to perform on events lined up for easter holidays, a pleas that his lawyer said was to fulfill his contractual obligations with his clients.
However the court overruled his request and directed that Dj Joe Mfalme be detained at the Muthangari Police Station for the 14 days awaiting his court date.
