Hours after the High Court issued arrest warrants against Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and his former Deputy Governor John Barorot, new orders have been issued on the matter.
According to reports, lawyers of the accused Governor and his Former Deputy led by Bernard Kipngetich, later went back to the court and convinced the magistrate to suspend the arrest orders.
It’s on these latest developments that a court in Nakuru suspended the arrest warranty of Governor Bii and his Former Deputy that had been earlier issued by Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ndege.

The warrants had been issued after the two failed to appear to testify in a case in which Senator Jackson Mandago is charged with three others over the Sh1 billion Finland education fiasco.
“We will be back in court on Wednesday to canvass about the warrants to be fully lifted, the lawyer clarified after the court lifted the order of arrest against Mr Jonathan Bii.
According to Lawyer Kipngetich, the governor did not defy court orders but was held up and that the county boss was ready to fully cooperate with the court and therefore will seek a second chance for the Governor.

Earlier, when the governor and his deputy failed to appear, the prosecution led by Angeline Chinga said the two had been bonded and asked to be in court but they were absent but the second failure led to their warrant issue.
