Concerns have been raised after the billions meant for Kenya Police Officers who were deployed to Haiti are yet to receive the cash almost second week after deployment in the Caribbean country.
According to the United States and Canada, the international community has failed to raise the billions needed to support the mission in Haiti and it’s time to walk the talk.

The latest report was revealed during the United Nations Security Council meeting where members were notified that only Ksh2.7 billion (USD21 Million) had been raised out of a target of Ksh12 billion (USD118 million) pledge.
The US ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the international partners to do more and give more so that the money will help to stabilise the wartorn country.
According to the Ambassador, the money would ensure that Haitians get a deserved peace and stability that would ensure they go to work, school, or a house of worship without the threat of violence.
This comes after Kenya sent her first batch of 400 Police Officers to Haiti with the additional 600 police officers yet to be deployed. However, other six countries have showed their willingness to deploy police officers to the troubled Caribbean nation.
Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations Bob Rae has also urged the international community of the United member states to support the mission because failure to do so will put the mission in jeopardy.

The United States on its part has supported the first Kenyan police contingent with training as well as the construction of barracks. In addition, they have already equipped the Kenyan police with modern military equipment.
