Citizen TV has clarified reports that they reported that the government will be deducting Hustler Fund debts directly from M-PESA as from Saturday.
According to Citizen, the post is fake and they did not in any way report that the government is taking such a move in a bid to recover loans from Hustlers who had borrowed from the government’s initiative.
In a statement through their social media platforms, the local station denied having reported the same and told their viewers and readers to disregard the media that is doing rounds on social media.

“Another day, another fake poster. Kindly disregard this message purporting to be from us. Thank You.”
Asof Thursday, Kenyans took to social media to express their shock after news of huster fund deductions started spreading with most claiming that it’s the reason the Mpesa Pin was required upon registration.

It’s now clear that the repirts were fake and did not in anyway originate from Citizen TV as earlier claimed. Urging their viewers to discredit the poster that has now gone viral.
Kenyans have also been urged to be careful on various fake news and follow verified pages and news outlets for credible and authentic information and news for them to consume.
