A section of kenyans were forced to spend Christmas on the road as Nairobi-Nakuru highway turned to a parking lot due to the high number of kenyans travelling causing snarl-up.
According to reports, the snarl-up stretched several kilometres along the highway in Kinale forest area forcing kenyans to turn off their vehicles as they waited for hours for the traffic jam to ease for them to continue travelling.
Several motorists talking to NewsProjector said that the situation caused by irresponsible overlapping among the motorists. This forced the jam that stretched kilometres forcing kenyans to spend Christmas on the road.

Due to this, the travellers claimed lack of basic necessities such as food and water as they had hoped to reach home on time to find them only to be stuck on the road for several hours with no vendor to supply food or water even at a price.
On a video doing rounds on social media, the motorosts have asked anyone who wants to travel home to reSchedule as the snarl-up is not going to allow you to travel home today.
“So, if you are in Nairobi, don’t attempt to travel home for Christmas. Jam iko mpaka hukooooooo, huko mbali. So, wale wako Nairobi, mkue huko. Na wale wako Nakuru, mkae huko tu. Barabara sasa imekua parking, sio barabara tena.”

Several motorists and travellers had alighted from their vehicles and were standing by the road side as they watched the situation. This turned to spending Christmas on the road as hours kept ticking stuck at the same spot.
Majority of those who are stuck in the traffic were headed to their rural homes for Christmas festivities and they ncluded those aboard private and public service vehicles.
