A car ferrying high court judge Thripsisa Wanjiku Wamae was on Monday involved in an accident in Nakuru with the judge among the occupants.
In a statement released by the Judicial Service Commission, Justice Wanjiku Wamae of the Isiolo High Court was travelling with her bodyguard and driver at the time of accident.
Confirming the incident, Mogotio OCPD Felician Nafula said that the judge, alongside two other occupants of the car, sustained serious injuries after the incident along the Eldama Ravine-Nakuru Highway.

The three are said to be traveling to yet to be established location when their vehicle veered off the highway and rolled into a ditch. As a result, the vehicle was badly damaged on the front, including the windshield.
However, latest reports reveal that the judge was airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment while the other two were taken to Valley Hospital Nakuru where they are currently receiving medical attention.
The Judicial Service Commission also confirmed the incident and noted that Wamae is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition and wished the high court judge speedy recovery.
“Hon Lady Justice Thripsisa Wanjiku Wamae, a Judge of the High Court and Presiding Judge, Isiolo High Court, has regrettably been involved in a Road Traffic Accident along the Eldama Ravine – Nakuru road. She is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.”
