Brian Mwenda Njagi has been nabbed by the Rapid Action Team (RAT) under the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Nairobi branch for masquerading as a law practitioner of the high court.
The Law Society issued a statement claiming that Brian has been falsely presenting himself as a lawyer of the high court and he is neither a lawyer nor a member of the society. This means that Mwenda has no licence to practice law in Kenya.
But the elephant in the room is how many more Imposters are hiding behind government offices, societies and even parastatals claiming to be who they are not? Brian Mwenda is just one of the many.
Few years ago, the police uncovered an imposter among them. Although he was acquitted by the court, Waiganjo is a similar case to Brian Mwenda.

The government has a tendency of “forgetting” some sectors during transition and there is always someone to take advantage of that. This comes with a price as imposters use these sectors as avenues of corruption because they are answerable to no one.
Editor’s Opinion:
There are a lot of Brian Mwendas in the public sector. Auditing of employees should be done after a period of time to ascertain the genuineness of employees. In the whole imposter saga, Kenyans are the ones who suffer. Either through corruption, unqualified services or favoritism.
If an audit is to be done especially in the public sectors, several imposters will be busted. If someone can confidently present himself as a lawyer in the courts where justice is served, imagine in government offices.
These imposters don’t even need to earn from the government, they earn from innocent kenyans through bribes. They delay services so that they can ask you for “kitu kidogo” to process your service.
Ghost workers and imposters are a menace in this country. Something ought to be done.
