Four people have been confirmed dead in a suspected arson attack in Kabocha Village in Kiambu County after their house was burnt down as they were sleeping on the night of December 30th.
The four who are a mother and her three children were sleeping in their house when the unfortunate incident happened and could not escape the blaze.
According to reports, the fire broke out at 2:00 AM on Saturday and it burnt everything to the ground including properties as neighbours realised a little too late to save the four.

Confirming the incident, Kabete OCPD Antony Mbogoh stated that the fire’s cause is still unknown as police have launched investigations into the incident as neighbours claim suspected arson attack in trying to uncover what caused the tragic incident.
The incident has left the Kabete area residents in shock as they mourn the loss of the four. Area member of County Assembly Eddy Kinyanjui said that the four couldn’t escape the fire as it brazed high. He added that property of unknown value was also destroyed.
This comes after another similar incident happened Two weeks ago that was reported in Kabete killing two children aged two years and four years.
According to a neighbour, the mother had left the children in the house to pick up luggage from the bus stop. Investigations done were inconclusive, as witnesses presumed faulty electricity wires might have caused the fire.

Area residents have called upon the police and the government to ensure these fire mysteries are solved to avert similar incidents that have now caused alarm in Kabete area. Police have said they will ensure that the investigations are conclusive to find the root cause of the fires.
