A senior UDA Politician has revealed that the bipartisan talks between the rulling party and the opposition might fail. Hinting a tough bipartisan talks progress.
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheriuiyot has said that the talks might fail due to demands made by the opposition. He has mantained that there are issues that the rulling party will not compromise whatsoever.
Cheriuiyot was speaking on Sunday during a church service in Sotik in Bomet county where he attended. The Senator said that issues like the dropping of the housing levy will not be accepted. He claimed thaf the Azimio team is playing politics of deceit.
Cheriuiyot claimed that policies like the housing levy has been implemented by the government to revive Kenya’s economy. The majority whip also wondered why Azimio faulted the move when both Azimio and UDA had it on their manifestos.
“Let me announce to the country from straight here in Bomet, the same way they are telling us that they are deal breakers even us in the issues of housing levy that one is a deal breaker.”

He added that: “I will not allow anyone to insist that we must remove the housing levy, the bipartisan talks will collapse and let them go back to the streets because I cannot allow myself to sign on a report that will make thousands of youth miss out on jobs.”
In addition, The Senator also stated that the government is not ready to take advise from the people who “put us in the mess we are currently in”. Therefore, that’s a possible hardened bipartisan talks progress between the two sides.
“We cannot take advise from the same people who got us into the same mess that we are currently in. Some of the people talking are the same who were moving around borrowing funds for BBI, how can you be advising us and you are the one who got us into the mess that we are into today.”
