Azimio Leader Raila Odinga has promised the return of street protests in 2024 after claiming that kenyans grievances have not been addressed by the current government.
The Opposition leader was speaking in Nyanza where he said that the ultimatum he gave the current regime to either remove the taxes or they would return of street protests in 2024 has expired.
According to Odinga, high taxes which have led to a tough economic situation across the country thus the high cost of living that has made life unbearable for most Kenyans.

“We told them not to increase taxes but they went ahead and raised the taxes, worsening the situation. These taxes must be revoked, the Finance Act must be removed. If they don’t we will return to the streets in 2024.”
Odinga stated that kenyans and by extension, Azimio supporters have urged Raila to call for the return of mass protests in an attempt to force the Kenya Kwanza administration to renege on some of their policies.
The opposition had initially called off the protests to pave way for dialogue through the National Dialogue Committee, led by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and Wiper party’s Kalonzo Musyoka.
However, the report has devided the opposition with some leaders supporting the National Dialogue Committee report with others silently agreeing with it.

Azimio battalion has however said that some of the irreducible minimums included lowering the cost of living by revoking the taxes stipulated by the government.
Failure to which, the Azimio leader has said that the return of maandamano will be in full force in 2024 as the opposition will be trying to force the government to listen to the plight of kenyans and lower the cost of living.
