Another school has reportedly went up in flames after one of their dormitory was engulfed in fire on Monday morning as cases become more and more disturbing as the fire incident continue to rise.
According to reports, Ortum Boys High School in kapenguria, West Pokot went up in flames on Monday morning with the cause of the fire yet to be established by the time of publishing this article.
In videos that are currently circulating online, dense smoke is seen coming out of one of the school’s dormitory with students, dressed in black trousers and grey sweaters watching helplessly from a distance.

Reports indicate that the fire started at around 9:00 am and quickly engulfed one of the main dormitories before spreading to others, causing panic among the school community.
There is no official report from the school or the police over the cause of the fire or whether there are any casualties but preliminary reports indicate that the fire might have been caused by an electricity fault. However, official reports will be conveyed.
This adds to a pile of school fire incidents that have been witnessed in the past few days, starting from a horrific tragedy at the Hillside Endarasha Academy that claimed 21 Pupils at the institution.
Subsequently, another fire engulfed a dormitory at Isiolo girls a day later that saw students sustaining injuries. Yesterday, another fire razed down a dormitory in Njia Boys High School with properties of unknown value destroyed.

Education officials have called for thorough inspections and enhanced safety protocols in school dormitories to prevent future incidents where pupils and students lose their lives
