President William Ruto was triggered by Bomet residents and was forced to lecture them during his development tour in the region.
While addressing a rally in Bomet, angry William Ruto condemned Bomet residents for heckling their Governor in his presence without respect.
This came after President Ruto gave a go-ahead to Governor Barchok to address the crowd, but the residents were having none of it and instead shouted the county chief down.

Stepping in, the Head of State calmed the residents who were booing and preventing their Governor from speaking and addressing them.
However, the President told them to be patient and utilize their power at the ballot during the next election in a bid to hold non-performing leaders accountable.
“Mimi nataka niwaambie hivi. Kulete mambo hii kwa mkutano mimi staki. nyinyi ndio mnapanga MCA, MP, Senator, ata huyu Governor. Nataka mtulie na mkuwe watu wa kusoma barua ikiwa ndani ya bahasha.”
The angry head of state directed residents to give their leader ample time to address the crowd and if they have issues with his performance, they should kick him out in the next elections.
“Kama kuna mtu ambaye hajafanya kazi, mngojeeni siku ya uchaguzi mtamalizana na yeye. Lakini kwa sasa, tuko na mkutano, wacheni aongee.”

This becomes the second incident in a span of days where a similar incident happened in Kericho after residents booed their Governor Dr. Erick Mutai infront of the President.
He was therefore forced to intervene and calm the crowd whom he told to give the Governor time to address them.
This has become the trend where underperforming leaders are shouted at during public functions, an action the President has said will not tolerate in his meetings.
