Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has come out to address the issue of fake fertilisers that has caused an uproar among kenyans.
According to Linturi, the claims that the subsidised fertilisers supplied by the government is fake are malicious and spread by propagandists of the opposition.
Speaking in Kuresoi, Nakuru County on Tuesday, the CS asserted that government fertiliser were scientifically tested and approved before circulation for use by Kenyans

We cannot allow a situation where wakulima wetu wanaweza kutapeliwa.”
According to the CS, those claiming that the fertiliser is fake have no authority to approve or disapprove their allegations because they are neither qualified nor have facilities to test fertilisers.
There is nothing that we expect itoke mzuri kutoka kwao.”
The CS however admitted that the government has launched investigations, as a safety measure, to ensure that no counterfeit subsidised fertiliser is circulating, citing past instances of criminals attempting to defraud Kenyans.
