It’s another sad morning after a 66 seater bus crash in Londiani, Kericho county on early Thursday morning as confirmed by Red Cross.
According to reports by the Kenya Red Cross, 34 people have been injured in the morning accident after the driver of the bus tried to avoid hitting a car when he lost controll in the Muhoroni – Londiani highway .
Police at the scene report that the bus crash in Londiani happened around 3 AM on Thursday morning that saw among the injuredy, an expectant lady who suffered a miscarriage.

Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Tom Odera said the bus was coming from Nairobi and was headed for Busia when he tried to avoid hitting a car by applying emergency brakes before the bus rolled at Tunnel Center.
“The driver of the bus says he was trying to avoid hitting a car that was ahead of him after it applied emergency breaks as they drove the stretch.”
However, according to Red Cross, no fatalities were reported in the morning accident as the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Londiani has been regarded as a blackspot and drivers are cautioned to approach cautiously to avoid emergency situations that could potentially lead to accidents in the area.

This comes after a similar accident happened weeks ago in Londiani area after a 14- seater matatu hit a trailer that led to four men and one child loosing their lives with several others injured in the accident.
Being a festive season, drivers are encouraged to take enough rest and not work for long hours due to high travelling demand to upcountry.
Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen also ordered the road to be marked clearly and speed bumps put up at Londiani Junction to avoid such accidents. He also ordered traders on the highways to vacate from the roadside
